2010 - Tarana Fazel from Nottingham at NUS

The only regret I have is that I wish I had done a whole year at NUS instead of a semester.

When deciding on an exchange university, I wanted an institution that would give me a different academic experience and enable me to study my subject from a completely different angle. I also wanted to travel extensively, experience totally different cultures and make lots of new friends from all over the world! I achieved all of this and much more in Singapore.

Student life is made very easy at NUS – the campus has excellent facilities and abundant opportunities to try different things, whether it’s different food, sports, or getting involved in cultural festivals. Singapore is also an ideal hub for travelling around Asia, and NUS even organises charity community projects in neighbouring countries which you can get involved in. I took part in a 3-week community project in Vietnam after I finished my semester in Singapore. The experience was amazing and run entirely by students.

Do I have any regrets? The only regret I have is that I wish I had done a whole year at NUS instead of a semester!
