SJTU offers full-time U21 Graduate Scholarships

Shanghai Jiao Tong University is to offer full scholarships to five U21 graduate students.

Colleagues at Shanghai Jiao Tong University are delighted to announce the Chinese Government Special Scholarship Programme which will fund five U21 students, as well as twenty students from non-U21 universities, to complete a full-time Master's or Doctoral Degree at the university.

The programme is open to any non-Chinese graduate students from a U21 university and will fully fund a 2-3 year Master's degree or 3-4 year Doctoral degree, starting in the 2012/13 academic year.  Study can be undertaken in English or Chinese.

The scholarship includes:

  • tuition waiver, basic teaching materials fee waiver and on-campus dormitory fee waiver;
  • a monthly stipend (Master’s degree students: 1700RMB/month, Doctoral degree students: 2000RMB/month);
  • One-off resettlement subsidy of 1500RMB/person on arrival;
  •  Out-patient medical fees and Chinese Government Scholarship Foreign Students Medical Insurance of 600RMB/person/year.

All Chinese-taught and English-taught programmes are open to international students, with the exception of the MBA, IMBA and all SJTU co-operative programmes with foreign institutions.

Application Procedure

Applicants should visit the scholarship website to complete the application form, then print it and send it by post (or deliver it in person) to reach SJTU by Thursday 15 March 2012.

Applicants will also need to submit a person statement of more than 1500 words (see the file below for further details).
